ABOUT: Firehouse Publishing is an extension of The Firehouse Gallery of Bordentown NJ, founded in 1970 by Juanita Crosby, and continued through its present owners since 1994. Our publishing company started in 2009 when many of our ideas were ignored by the publishers that we approached who dominate the field. We knew our ideas would be appreciated by artists and teachers so we decided to do it ourselves. We offer several lines of books you see here, focused on art and education. We have other lines of fine art books and poetry that we have separate websites for because they appeal to very different audiences. We have about 75 active titles and add or edit new ones each year. Our primary author has a popular art education blog HERE, with many free resources, projects, advice, and wisdom from his 30+ years of teaching in the USA, Japan, and Egypt!
Returns & Refunds:
Printing Errors:
Our books are printed digitally, so in rare circumstances our books may come with a printing error. If this is the case, contact us and explain the error you see, oddly cut pages, pages missing, up-side-down print, something the press might have done odd and was not caught in quality control... We can re-order a copy for you if we can explain the error to our printer. It has happened about 2 times in the last 8 years. Really rare. We cannot offer a refund, just a replacement.
Shipping Damages:
If the book has major faults because of shipping, we can order another copy of the same book to the same address. We will need a photo of the shipping label and an email description of the issue. Include a photo of the damage. This too is rare but Amazon, our shipper, can take care of this.We cannot offer a refund, just a replacement.
Not what you thought it was:
This gets expensive... and is why I post videos that show you much of what is in the book before you buy. ALSO, because I wrote the books, generally with a high school frame of mind, I have been asked to make elementary versions. So sometimes they look VERY SIMILAR to the first one with small changes that are helpful to an elementary teacher. I am very clear in the description if there is significant overlap in the content of the book. Always read descriptions.
When you order through me, you are ordering through the author. Firehouse Publications is 2 people, not a corporation with deep pockets, just me and my spouse.
I offer 30% off and "take a hit" in the shipping, so really it's more than 30%... When I sell direct, it's to offer teachers the lowest price I can, to help their budgets. I am still teaching too, so I know we often use our own money to order. Refunds essentially come out of my pocket because the profits are razor thin when you buy direct.
If the book has no folds, wrinkles, and I can sell it as new, then it can be shipped directly to us in a BOX (not an envelope). I can issue a refund for what you paid. We do not cover shipping. Please write "MEDIA MAIL" on the outside, and it will ship at the lowest rate possible from the Post Office. Please include your name, and the paypal account used to make the purchase and slide the info inside the cover of one book, I'll find it. Don't insure it, and tracking is automatic. DO NOT include correspondence; If you do, you cannot get the MEDIA MAIL low rate. Email me as well, so I know to look for your package.
Our address is in the "Contact Us" tab.
NO returns will be considered past 30 days of when you got it, OR if the books cannot be re-sold as new.
